What Does the Bible Say About Jesus Return?
There are many teachers on bible prophecy and the return of Christ. I am one of them. We all have different ideas about the circumstances surrounding his return and we pretty well all disagree on many issues. That being said, I will now tell you what I believe the Lord has shown me about Jesus' return. Ultimately only time will prove who is right and who is wrong.
But before I go into what the bible says about prophecy, I would like to create a foundation to build on. I do this because what I have come to believe about creation is directly related to how I understand prophetic scripture. You see there are a couple scriptures that have been taught by virtually all teachers to represent one end-time person. This person is the one John called the Anti Christ.
The scriptures I am speaking of are, first:
2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, where we read of the wicked one who sits in the temple showing himself that he is God
and second:
Revelation chapter 9, which speaks of the king who rules over the locusts which look like men, have hair of women and teeth like lions teeth. Their king is known in Hebrew as Abaddon or in Greek as Apollyon which means Destroyer. He is the one who ascends from the bottomless pit.
These 2 are the same person but they are none of the persons spoken of in Daniel as the Little Horn or the King of the North or the one who comes and makes the covenant. These are 3 other people. (They are not one person either. They are 3 different people.)
To truly understand how these scriptures relate to prophecy you must first know where the bottomless pit is and how it relates to creation. This knowledge is what makes my understanding of the return of Jesus Christ differ from all others.
